Parc Penrhiw is a Playful Community!
Parc Penrhiw Residents are a new group that aim to provide play and social activities on their street. They’ve been inspired through our Playful Communities project to get together and transform a patch of grass on their street into a community garden and a place to play and socialise.
To help them on their way, in March they took part in a project to create an artwork that will be used as the front cover of Public Health Wales’ Annual Quality Statement. In recognition, Public Health Wales are donating £300 worth of equipment and will presenting the group with a waterproof version of the finished piece at PHW’s Annual General Meeting on 27th July.
The artwork will take pride of place in the new garden and PHW’s contribution and Gwalia’s donation of fencing, will act as match funding when the group submit applications to Gwalia’s Community Chest and Tesco’s Bags of Help this month.
