Gas Safety in your Home: Annual Service

We carry our an Annual Gas Safety check in all of our homes to ensure that everything is working properly and safely, whilst also helping keep running costs as low as possible.

As part of your annual safety check our fully qualified gas engineers carry out a gas safety check and service every 12 months. Only Gas Safe registered engineers are authorised to work on gas appliances.

How long will the service take?

The service usually takes between 40 to 60 minutes. depending on the size and type of your home and its’ appliances. Your gas safety record will detail the gas appliances in your home, so it may be helpful to make the engineer aware of them when they arrive.

What do I need to do?

All you need to do is to allow our gas engineers into your home when your Annual Gas Service is due. We will contact you with an appointment date and time, giving at least 7 days’ notice to carry out the service.

Missed appointments

Missed gas service appointments take up engineer time that could be spent on carrying out vital repairs. They also reduce our maintenance budget, and redirects funds away from our planned improvement programmes.

If you miss two gas service appointments, you will be charged £50.

Legal proceedings

For those households who fail to allow access for the engineer or miss an appointment, we will arrange another slot within 7 days to carry out the service. In the event of 3 failed access attempts, we will consider pursuing court action. If you are taken to court for failing to allow access for a service, an injunction will be granted in order to legally ensure access to the property and any court fees incurred will be recharged.
