Underfloor heating foil - basic information about its functionality

Underfloor heating foil is one of the thinnest electric underfloor heating systems available on the market. This is a very modern, technological solution that was created with new heating standards and types of floors used in private homes and commercial premises in mind. This type of foil heater can be very thin and only a few millimetres thick. Thanks to this, its installation under a laminate floor or panels, as well as under a wooden parquet, will not be problematic. At the same time, this solution is safer than standard systems.

Electric foil heating mats can be installed directly under the floor. This greatly simplifies the process and makes assembly faster. Its primary heat source is electricity. The entire system is connected to a special digital or analogue thermostat. This system has a floor sensor, so it is possible to regulate the temperature and distribute the heat evenly under the entire floor surface in a room.

Foil underfloor heating is also used for laminate, floating floors and engineered wood. This underfloor heating system is very easy to use. Just set the appropriate parameters according to your needs. This ensures consistent heat distribution and even spread of the thermal energy to the floor finish.

The most important issues regarding the installation of electric underfloor heating

This warmup foil heater must be installed in accordance with several guidelines for its effective and safe use. This foil heater must only be mounted on a dry surface. It cannot come into contact with water. This is a system that is a great way to heat rooms as an additional heating system.

It is very important to install this special fibre reinforced foil together with the RCD and on a thin polystyrene insulation barrier with a minimum thickness of 6 mm.

Foil heater must always be connected to a heating cable that is double insulated. For safety reasons, you should also make sure that there are no damages or dents on the foil before installing it.

The foil heating system must be assembled by a professional. Before installation, it should be carefully planned so that it is located in places with a large thermal deficit.

Underfloor heating system - how does the thermostat work?

The entire foil heating system is equipped with a thermostat. To maintain the appropriate temperature of the floor and aluminium foil, it is important to set the thermostat. This small device can be available in a digital or analogue version.

It is very important that it is a model compatible with underfloor heating. It is supplied together with an air sensor and an external floor sensor.

This small device makes it very easy to set the optimal temperature. In the digital version, simply set the heating level and time using the touch display. If the heating is installed under a wooden floor, the device can be set to protect it against damage and overheating. The thermostat will ensure that the maximum temperature is then 28 degrees Celsius.

Foil heater delivers the warmth that allows you to heat rooms throughout your house or apartment.

Sometimes it is not necessary to install a digital thermostat. Then you can choose a system with an analogue thermostat. All you need is a function to turn the entire system on and off. This device also has a floor sensor and is very intuitive to operate.

The placement of the thermostat is very important. It should be installed in a place where it is easily accessible. To show the actual temperature, it must not be mounted in sunlight.

Essential elements that must be included in the foil heating system installation kit

To properly install the foil heating system, you need to make sure that you have all the necessary accessories. The first one is, of course, microfoil. To function effectively, it must be equipped with a floor sensor and thermostat. All connection wires, crimp connections and crimp tools are also essential. To protect the floor from overheating and damage, it is necessary to use insulation. It must be included in the set together with PVC tape and PP tape. The above set of accessories also include a flexible sensor tube and installation guide.

Each such heating system is covered by a warranty. It will enable you to obtain a comfortable temperature in rooms where the standard heating system is insufficient.
